About Us

 

In 1999, Sierra Wine and Spirits, Inc. was established, becoming the fourth privately-owned, full service liquor wholesale distributorship in northern Nevada, selling high quality beer, wine, and spirits to retailers and service companies statewide. The company’s primary objective is the same now as it was then, to provide a service-oriented business to the varying markets we serve, namely, retail sales, restaurants, and casinos.

 

Our company currently operates in a 15,000 square foot warehouse in the Sparks Industrial Area, newly remodeled in October 2000. To facilitate our operations in southern Nevada, we have a shipping/delivery agreement with Desert Gold, Inc., one of the state’s largest meat and seafood suppliers to the hospitality industry. In addition to a state-of-the-art, climate controlled warehouse, Desert Gold’s resources include a large fleet of  refrigerated trucks used to not only transport product between Reno and Las Vegas, but also to deliver our goods to the southern Nevada market.  

 

Sierra Wine and Spirits’ credentials include an importer’s license along with the wholesaler designation. Our company is also accredited as a minority-owned business by the Nevada Small Business Development Center. Under current ownership, we are committed to moving the company forward quickly and profitably. We are now at a point where we can take advantage of specific opportunities available to us in our marketplace in order to grow the business to the next level.

 

Our mission is to create and maintain a consistent presence of our product mix in the markets we serve, through a comprehensive and focused sales and service effort unique to Sierra Wine and Spirits. The development of our product portfolio continues to evolve regularly, with buying decisions generated through a committee comprised of owners, management, and staff. This committee meets on a regular basis and is careful to recommend items that are the best fit for the distributorship and our market. Obviously, our relationships with many valued suppliers is key: we cannot grow without quality products and an efficient supply chain.

 

Currently, our sales staff is solid in Reno, and in Las Vegas. They continue to support our niche marketing of selective products within the multi-billion dollar industry in which we already have an established presence, through five years of sales experience. We look forward to hiring additional passionate and educated personnel in the coming months as growth demands.
